Welcome to NWOHIMA Membership NWOHIMA membership runs from July 1 through June 30 of each calendar year. Types of Memberships Active: Individual who holds an Active-level AHIMA membership. Also any non-AHIMA member employed in, or interested in, the area of medical records or health information services. ($15 per year) Transitional: Recent graduate of an AHIMA or CAHIIM approved program that has not yet passed the accreditation exam. ($10 per year - limited to one membership year) Student: Any person currently enrolled in an accredited CAHIIM HIM program or an approved AHIMA Medical Coding Program who does not already have an AHIMA credential and has not previously been an Active-level member of AHIMA. Honorary: Any person who receives an honorary membership in the AHIMA and who resides within the geographic boundaries of this association. (Free) Commercial: Any vendor or corporation interested in promoting the purpose of the organization. ($50 per year) Membership Application Educational Sessions The membership meets no less than three times per year. A brief organizational meeting precedes an educational session, which usually offers 1-2 continuing education hours for credentialed members.
